Maggie Garrett
Hi! My name is Maggie Garrett, and I am new to Mountain View Elementary this year. I went through Cobb County schools myself, attending Garrison Mill, Mabry, and Lassiter. I graduated from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) with my bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 2020 and my master’s in Elementary Education in 2021. I started my teaching career as a first-grade teacher at Mason Elementary in Gwinnett County. Then, I moved abroad to Madrid, Spain to teach English where I worked with students in first grade, second grade, and three-year-olds. I am so excited to be back in the States and working at Mountain View. When not at school, I enjoy reading a good book, traveling to new places, and relaxing on the beach. I look forward to a great year in first grade!

Courtney Kopriva
II have enjoyed teaching at Mountain View Elementary since 2018. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee in 2003 (GO VOLS) and my Masters of Elementary Education in 2023. I love to watch students grow academically in 1st grade. Teaching is my purpose and passion and has been a calling of mine for many years. I am married to my incredible husband Todd and have two daughters (Claire and Laine), a sweet yellow lab pup Zoe, and an English Setter Ruth. I love all things 1st grade, but my passion is teaching explicit structured literacy. Watching students grasp reading in 1st grade is magical. In my free time I enjoy being active, running, playing tennis, being outside with my family, and crafting. I look forward to a fun and exciting year in 1st Grade!!!

I also have my gifted endorsement, and I taught the gifted program for two years at my previous school. I grew up around the Atlanta area and moved to Marietta in 2013. My husband is a graduate of Lassiter High School, and I have 2 children attending Lassiter this year. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, hiking, and traveling.

Kari Lieber has been teaching at Mountain View since the new building opened in 2017. She has taught kindergarten, first, and second grade at MVES. Mrs. Lieber earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her favorite books are Charlotte’s Web and the Mercy Watson series. Mrs. Lieber and her husband have lived in several states but have called Marietta home since 2009. They have three grown children: Jake (28), Rachel (25), and Rebecca (22). In her spare time, Mrs. Lieber enjoys reading, spending time with family, and exploring new places. She loves to play board games and travel, especially to her home state of Minnesota. Mountain View is an amazing school, and Mrs. Lieber is so proud to teach here!
